Question: how is it possible for a baby to live inside a women with no oxygen and stuff

  1. A baby gets everything it needs through a thing called an umbilical cord. Check out your belly button, this is where you got your oxygen and stuff before you were born.

  2. What this means is that the mother eats, drinks and breathes for them both, and oxygen and food from the mother’s blood stream is moved over into the babies blood by an organ called the placenta, which is a bit like the root of a tree; the umbilical cord is the trunk, and the baby is the leaves.

  3. @bbrl99: The guys have pretty much covered it – if you’re still not sure, just ask another question about the unclear bit and I’ll try and help you out. 🙂
