Question: Do you think that every single country will emerge as one?

Keywords:

  1. That would be a wonderful thing, but I think it will not happen very soon. We all like our own way of living too much, and Western countries (Australia, Europe, North America) have many more things that “Third World” countries like India of African countries. We are not yet ready to live more simply so they can catch up.

  2. That is more of a political question than a scientific one, but knowing what I do about human nature, I would be very surprised if we stopped identifying ourselves by our native countries and started identifying as larger groups (or just as “people”). In some ways, I think it is hard for our brains to even comprehend so many people being in our “group”, so until we change that fundamental fact about ourselves, I expect that we will not ever be one.
