Question: have you ever thourght that if one half of the world was rich and the aver wasent do you think we would live like we are and split in to 2 different worlds????
Sadly, that is already true. Countries like Australia, Europe, USA, Canada we call “first world” countries. They have most of the power, use most of the food and energy and live much better lives than people in “third world” countries like many in Africa. Perhaps one day we will all learn to live together and share. We can’t really split our world in two, because it is one world and the things we do affect everyone, not just us.
We are so incredibly lucky to live in Australia. I’ve been able to travel around a bit and visited some places where kids grow up without power, easy access to fresh water or toilets and fresh food. These are things I took for granted growing up in Australia.
Now @maca01, your question reminds me of a movie preview I saw recently – have you seen Elysium by any chance?
People talk about the first world and the third world, as explained by Peter but we all live on one Earth. It would be great if everyone was equal, and there are many good people out there trying to make a difference for people who are less fortunate.
