Keywords: asteroid, impact
NASA says it will come “scarily close” but not hit is (http://science1.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2005/13may_2004mn4/) on Friday 13th April, 2029.
I suspect they have done the calculations correctly and are right.
Space is very big, and the earth is a very small target for asteroids. That said, some of them hit us, but it looks like this one will not. NASA and some other space agencies are working on plans to stop any asteroids that they do find are headed straight for us.
@haydenroxby123: The diameter of the asteroid – named Apophis 99942 – is approximately 325 metres. Earlier this year, scientists worked out that it is very unlikely it will hit Earth.
