More efficient cars would help. Better ways of generating electricity would help. Planting more trees would help reduce some of the pollution we do make.
It is possible to filter out some of the pollution. Power stations have filters on their smoke-stacks which stop a lot of it. Cars have a catalytic converter and other special equipment to reduce it.
