Question: can dogs understand english?

Keywords: , ,

  1. Dogs can learn a FEW simple commands. Don’t expect them to understand sentences. If you keep the commands to one or two words, they will learn what you expect them to do by associating it with the sound (they have very good hearing).

  2. @lfras55: Chaser is a border collie who knows the words for over 1200 things! She’s been the subject of lots of scientific research over the last few years and has demonstrated she can even understand basic syntax/grammar (for example, she knows the difference between “bring frisbee to ball” and “bring ball to frisbee”).
