If you can only connect to it over the internet, harder. You first have to guess the password. Many people have simple passwords – their own name or the name of a friend, their birth date; these are easy for someone to guess. There are programs that will try thousands of dictionary words to find the password. Once you have the password, the computer is yours.
A safe password has at least 9 characters, a mixture of capital letters, small letters, symbols like #$* and digits. This makes it hard to guess and trying all combinations would take too long, even for a computer.
