@stitch22: Hello! It was a combination of my interest, work experience and education all lining up with an opportunity for me to make dogs my study subjects.
I have been interested in dogs and animal behaviour FOREVER. I worked in an animal shelter and then with a guide dog organisation and these experiences gave me questions. My training as a scientist made me want to find answers, but no one else had looked at the questions I had. So, I decided to go ahead and design some experiments to answer my questions and started a PhD to do this.
What would you choose to study if you had the choice? 🙂
